The Landrace Boar is a mature male pig of the Danish Landrace breed, one of the top commercial pig breeds used in Nigeria for both pure breeding and crossbreeding programs. The Landrace is known for its exceptional reproductive performance (sows produce large litters of 10 - 12+ piglets), long body with excellent lean meat coverage, and strong maternal qualities that make it a favourite for improving local herd genetics. A Landrace Boar used for breeding can service a herd of 20 - 25 sows, making a high-quality boar one of the highest-impact investments in a commercial piggery. His genetics determine the performance, growth rate, and carcass quality of every piglet produced.
